Geolytix supports our customers in network planning, site location, estate rationalisation and omni-channel investments. We build innovative spatial data and are passionate about the open data community. We combine various forecasting methods and statistical models, GIS and web tools to create bespoke solutions. About You
You like maps and numbers. You’re very computer literate and proactively seek out new skills and software. The idea of learning to code excites you. You like carrying out detailed tasks and your attention to detail ensures you get the best result possible.
You’re a team player but can work independently. You’re interested in engaging with the team and our customers. You enjoy the world of retail, and ideally have a good grasp of geography.
We’re looking for someone who will be able to:
- Learn and apply both manual and automated processes to update and enhance our GeoData packs
- Learn to write efficient, well-documented code in Python and SQL to process, analyze, and maintain location-based data
- Support on client projects and location data enhancements with data processing, research and location analysis
- Create demographic reports and maps
- Know your way around a GIS
- Support and uphold the standards within our database infrastructure
Your qualifications and experience
- Numerical A-levels or proven ability in computing
- Ideally you have some coding experience (used python or sql as part of your coursework? took a coding module at uni? completed a few codecademy courses?)
- Currently studying for a university degree, ideally in mathematics, computer science or geography
Other stuff
Our data team is largely based out of our office in Leeds where this role will be based. The placement will be for 12 months starting in July 2025. Applications close on 23rd February 2025 with interviews taking place after that date. Competitive salary.
